When should I book my flights?

We suggest that you book your flights as early as you can to be assured of seats availability. Airfares are usually also cheaper when booked further in advance of the flight date.

When should I arrive in Barcelona?

We highly recommend that you arrive at least one day prior to sailing to avoid unexpected flight delays and cancellations. You also don’t want to miss out on any of our pre-Shipsomnia activities and pre-party prior to sailing.

At what time should I arrive at the port for embarkation?

Embarkation at the Barcelona port is from 12:00 – 16:30. You should arrive early to ensure a smooth check-in, to beat the lines and also be first to settle in your room and explore the amazing ship!

How much money will I need to bring?

Although Shipsomnia is an all-inclusive event, you will still want to bring some extra spending cash which will vary depending on your personal budget. We recommend a minimum of US$100 per day /person to be set aside for things like:

    • Duty free shopping and specialty restaurants on board the ship
    • Food and drink during your time at Sunset Beach Party

You will need a valid passport and in some cases, a travel visa for Spain and/or France. You must contact the appropriate consulates, embassies and/or immigration office(s) to inquire about necessary documentation for the Cruise’s ports of call. Your name, as listed on your travel documents, must exactly match your name as listed on your Cruise documents. Mad fresh Entertainment is not responsible for denied boarding due to insufficient documents.

Passports that expire within 6 months of our sailing date are not valid – no exceptions, not even 1 day.  Please also make sure you have sufficient pages (at least 2 free pages) in your passport remaining.

Citizens from US Sanctioned Countries will be denied boarding unless special permission/approval is given by the US consulate/embassy. Kindly check with your US consulate, embassy and/or immigration office(s) to ascertain and/or obtain your eligibility to board a US vessel.

Will the DJ’s be on board with us for the entire cruise?

Yes, that’s what makes Shipsomnia such a unique experience. Often times you’ll see the DJs partying with everyone as they’re also on vacation with us!

Where and what time are the DJs playing?

The full itinerary and DJ line-up / hourly schedule will be e-mailed to all registered guests approx. 2 weeks prior to sailing. For general itinerary please check out our Itinerary Page.

What activities will be available off-shore?

Besides the main highlight party stop, guests can sign up for a variety of shore excursions during our stop overs.

To book a shore excursion, just visit the tour desk on board the ship for full information and itineraries.

Are there ATM machines available on board?

There are no ATMs on board. If you decide to bring lots of cash, there is a safe in every room.

How do I pay for onboard purchases and extra expenses?

The ship uses a “cashless” system, namely your boarding card, (also known as your Royal Caribbean card), will be used as a charge card to make all onboard purchases. Normally to activate this account, most guests provide a credit card, (American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Diner’s Club and JCB), to have these purchases charged to at the end of their cruise. Additionally, the card system may be activated with traveler’s checks, debit cards with a Visa or MasterCard logo, or cash. A running tab of all your purchases will be kept under separate folio numbers for each guest and an itemized statement left in your stateroom the night before disembarkation. If you provided a credit card and there are no discrepancies, the amount will be charged to your account on the morning of disembarkation. If you have used traveler’s checks or cash to activate the account, you will need to settle the account at the Guest Services desk, (to either receive a reimbursement of the unused amount you originally left or to pay the balance of what you have charged over the amount of what you originally left).

Are there any other services available on board?

Yes, from dry cleaning, laundry services and hair salon, there are many services on board to make your experience go as smooth as possible.

Will I have access to the internet?

Check your email. Surf the web. Stay in touch. Bring your laptop on board and enjoy 24/7 internet connectivity throughout the ship. Per minute rates apply.

Will my cell phone work at sea?

Royal Caribbean has an advanced roaming network available on all ships, allowing you to place and receive calls, voice mail, text messages and GPRS data using your own cell phone. Per minute rate applies; carrier rates may apply. Alternatively you can also call land-based friends using the phone provided in your room. Long distance charges apply.

Can I bring my own alcohol on-board?

No. Guests are not allowed to bring any alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic beverages or food to Shipsomnia. Alcoholic beverages purchased in the ship’s gift shops or in ports of call will be retained by the cruise operator until the end of the Cruise.

What is the smoking policy?

There is a no smoking policy which applies throughout the cruise ship except in designated smoking areas on the cruise ship. Ashtrays are to be used at all times while smoking in the designated smoking areas. No smoking of any kind, shall be permitted in cabins or outside on balconies. Any guests who are found in violation of the smoking policy in their cabin will be fined per occurrence as per the cruise line policy. Charges will appear on the guests on-board account and must be paid prior to disembarkation.

Is the ship wheelchair accessible and handle other special needs?
